A year or so ago I needed an updated professional photo for a presentation. I reached out to Doug Ellis, as I remembered him from over 10 years ago when he created excellent photos of a group of us. I am, once again, delighted with the results of our photo session. Doug is kind, professional, and his heart is in the right place as well. He often works with non-profit organizations and with venues that are congruent with his values and his care for the greater good. I am definitely not the most photogenic person so I thought I would have to grit my teeth through the day of professional headshots . However, my recent experience at Doug Ellis photography was nothing short of fantastic. From the moment I stepped into their warm and welcoming studio, I felt at ease.

I had an odd request for Doug. The request was to take headshots with my hamster Quarantina. Essentially, I wanted to take family portraits in Santa Barbara and Quarantina is my species-diverse family member.

Doug recently did our family portraits in Santa Barbara, and we couldn't be happier. Four years earlier, Doug also did our wedding photos! Each time a couple hours of fun in Santa Barbara resulted in some of our best family photos that now hang in our house and our extended family's houses. I can't recommend Doug more!

I highly recommend Doug Ellis and his team! I was coming back to acting after taking a few years off and it can be very daunting to get actor headshots, no matter how long you've been in the game. Doug was very easy to get in contact with and talk to about what my needs for the shots were and what I needed to be prepped for. I felt comfortable during the shoot and Rose, his recommended makeup artist, made me feel like my best self. I had a great session and my resulting headshots are a real representation of me. There are people who can take good pictures, but on top of that, Doug also captures who you are as a performer/person.

Doug recently photographed a fundraising event for our non-profit organization. Doug was very professional throughout the process from planning to day of services. Doug captured gorgeous photos of the event and the people in attendance. We utilized the photos for thank you gifts and also for PR purposes. Very thankful we had his expertise and talent.

Re: actor headshots - Doug Ellis is a true artist. Working with him for some dating site head shots, he showed a real mastery of use of light, colors, and soft backgrounds to make my photos come alive. His gentle spirit and sense of his own personal happiness makes for a relaxed and productive photo shoot. His follow-up in working with me to choose and "fine tune" the ideal shots for the dating sight was fast and efficient. I give Doug 5 Stars.
